“Yes, man is mortal, but that would be only half the trouble. The worst of it is that he’s sometimes unexpectedly mortal—there’s the trick!” – Mikhail Bulgakov, ” The Master and Margarita
I am writing the current post just to express my shock and horror after a tragic accident which took place early in the morning and was witnessed by many early bird people including my family as at that moment I was exactly staying on the balcony of our bedroom with my son pointing to a plane which was never destined to land again. Earlier in one of my posts I wrote a couple of lines about what it means to live very close to an airport, see the planes`constant movement up and down, hear the permanent noise of engines which never stop working and all of sudden on a beautiful morning behold a small 10 sits plane which has just took off and immediately after started tipping on one side and straight away went down, crashing against the ground. Luckily it fell in the nearby fields within the airport premises thus no one else was involved in the tragedy except the crew members (5 people, all French nationals) who unfortunately did not survive.
I am afraid even to think that it could crash into the nearby houses, ours included and more people could die in a second and be seriously injured.
More information on the accident can be found on a local online new portal Times of Malta
Malta International Airport has just resumed its normal operation, the planes again popping up in the blue sky queuing for landing and taking off as all the morning the flights were delayed or diverted to the closest airport of Sicily.
While my thoughts remain with the families of the people involved in the accident today I wish to everyone a safe trip wherever they go and whatever way of travelling was chosen.
Take care and enjoy every single day as one never knows what might happen in a minute.
